If Your Looking Back You’re Not Fit

We all deal with shame, guilt, regret. We all have struggled looking back at our past wondering what if? I struggled with this for a long time. Ive known for a long time that I wanted and I was supposed to do something great with my life. The reality is we all are. However much of what was holding me back was looking at my past. When we are looking back at our past we tend to look at all the bad stuff, all the failures and mistakes. All of this makes us question our ability to make that dream God implanted in our heart come true. All of that makes us question if we are really capable. When I look back in my past I see some success but a ton of failure. I see how I didn’t execute in huge moments, I see how I spent two and a half years trying to fit in while in college which caused me to get arrested twice, I see how I completely failed at relationships with girls and friends. There is a verse in the good word that says, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.” Wow. This verse completely changed my life.

We were created for a specific reason and their is a plan for our life, however we cannot walk in that plan when we are constantly looking backwards. When we are constantly looking back at our past we are missing everything that our creator is putting right in front of us. He is putting people, and opportunities that we need in order to fulfill that dream in our heart right in front us but we can’t see them because we are looking back. I learned this when I truly decided to start moving forward with my life. When I started winning everyday of my life. It wasn’t all that long ago when I started writing everyday, recording myself on certain topics everyday, and crushing it at my job. God really started showing up in my life like I had never seen before. He started putting the right people and opportunities in my path that I know I needed to get where I desired to go. He put the right people I needed to encourage me. He put me in positions to practice more of my purpose. He put opportunities in front of me that would help me to enhance my purpose and I know that it was because I decided to just believe what the good word said and move forward with my life. I said “you know what, enough is enough, I am going to start looking forward and moving forward everyday, and if God wants to show up he will.” And I will tell you what, he sure has!

If you are looking back you are not fit for the dream in your heart. You are not fit to do the purpose for your life. Our creator cannot use people who are looking back. He can only use people that are moving forward, that are trusting and have faith that if they just move forward and believe, that God will bring them what they need. We all really need to come to terms with the fact that our past is what it is. We can either use it as an excuse or use it as motivation to move forward. I tell people that one of the keys to life is moving forward. I am fully empathetic with what has happened in your past, I just know that if you don’t ever release it, and start looking forward and moving forward everyday of your life you will not fulfill the great calling that is on your life. Get moving forward, the world needs your purpose and gift, your creator needs your purpose and gift, and YOU my friend need your gift and purpose.
