Stop Fighting Adversity

Adversity is what makes you who you are. Adversity is what makes you strong. You cannot become who you were created to become without adversity. So many people aren’t taking action because they dont want struggle. They know that if they step out and chase after what they want they are going to hit some type of adversity, and they don’t want things to be hard so they dont try at all. They decide that living their comfortable life is safe and they wont really have to go through anything too hard. That my friend is no way to live. How do you get stronger or better when all you do is avoid adversity? How on Gods green earth can you become who you were created to be without adversity? Its impossible.

You must see your adversity, your problems, and attack them head on. Yes it will be hard. Yes you will struggle. Yes you will probably want to quit at some point in time but when you come out on the other side you are a completely different person. You will be more confident. You will respect yourself more. You will believe in yourself more. We are always better than we think we are and when we attack adversity as opposed to shy away from it, we prove that to ourselves. We find out that we are indeed better than we thought we were.

Every person that has accomplished something great, has hit some sort of adversity. They had to either avoid the adversity or attack it head on. Maybe its financial, maybe its spiritual, maybe its the relationship with their spouse, maybe its a sickness, maybe its a death in their family. It doesnt matter but adversity is necessary and inevetible in the pursuit of our dreams and we always are thankful for that adversity when we push through it and look back. We are thankful for it because we know that we couldnt be who we are if we didn’t have to go through what we had to go through.

The way I explain it to people is there is this person on the inside of each and every one of us that we don’t know yet. In order to discover that person we must experience adversity, struggle, and challenges and overcome them. Thats why the good word says to “consider it joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” You need to experience challenges because the man or woman God created you to be is inside you and when you persevere through those challenges, God can reveal more of that person to you.

We naturally want to take the path of least resistance because we have been programmed to believe that pain and struggle is a bad thing. You must change that thinking. Pain and struggle are necessary to get what we want in life. We cannot become who we were created to become without feeling a little pain. You just cant let that struggle, and pain beat you. You must realize in those moments that your are good enough to win the battle and in fact you have already won the battle its just a matter of you continuing to push through. If we give up in our adversity we will never truly figure out who we can become. Our dreams will never become a reality and that my friend would be a sad story.
